Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship is launched by the backward classes welfare Department, Government of Telangana. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to the weaker family students. From the scholarship, the student can pursue their education abroad. Backward class students can take advantage of this scholarship. 300 students will be selected every year for this scholarship.

On this basis, the government of Telangana has launched a scholarship to fulfil the dreams of students.

 One more objective of this scholarship is to help economically backward students to pursue their education without any worry of money. The scholarship will bear all the expenses of the students.  Within scholarship, the following countries are eligible such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada Singapore.

Selection Process

To avail of this scholarship Students, have to go through the following selection process. The selection will be conducted by a state-level screening committee through the bio-data provided by the candidates. The committee will be constituted by the government with the following members: –

• Chairman- special chief secretary
• Secretary, State Council of Higher Education
• Vice-chancellor
• Commissioner
• Commissioner technical education
• Commissioner BC welfare
• Special invitee- expert in foreign education.

Important Information

There will be a 33% scholarship for women candidates. Those students who are selected for the scholarship have to join the given University within one year of Communication of selection. If they do not join the university the scholarship will be automatically cancelled. Students cannot change the course of study for which they selected for the scholarship.

• The applicant should possess a valid passport.
