Financial assistance will be provided to those people who are busy in such research, academic institutions,  research and development laboratories, industrial concerns, and other agencies for such research.

Those students selected for this scholarship will be provided with Rs 55000  for a month and other awards will also be provided.

The main objective of the SERB  National Postdoctoral Fellowship is to motivate young researchers in Science and Engineering. Another objective of this fellowship is to promote research in Science and Engineering by allowing those students whose financial conditions are not good. Those fellows who have professional degrees and want to carry on their research can take advantage of this fellowship. Financial assistance will be provided to them. Brief Description

 The full form of SERB is the Science and Engineering Research Board. This fellowship aims to encourage young researchers in the field of science and engineering. This Fellowship is only for Indian citizens. Fellows of any recognized academic institution, National Laboratories, and other recognized R and D institutions apply for this scholarship. The period of fellowship is 2 years. The fellow cannot work with the PhD guide/co-guide in the same department. 

Amount of Fellowship

The Amount provided under this Fellowship is given below:-

• Selected students will be provided Rs 55,00 Per month.
• Those students who have applied for the scholarship but are waiting for a degree will receive Rs  35,000 monthly.
•  The national postdoctoral Fellowship will be provided Rs 2 lakhs per annum as a research grant.
•  The fellowship also provides Rs 1 lakh per annum for overheads. 

Ending Of The Fellowship

If any fellow wants to end this fellowship then they have to inform the SERB  through the advisor and host Institute immediately. The implementing Institute should not sustain any expenditure from the date of the end of the project PI. SERB gives some right to end the fellowship at any stage. None of the fellows will get a problem to end this fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to follow the following giving eligibility criteria:-

• The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
•  The candidate must have a PhD/ MD/ NS degree from a recognized University.
• The age limit of the candidate will be 35 years at the time of the submission of the application.
•  This Fellowship can be availed once by a candidate.
• The candidate for this Fellowship can submit their proposal only once in a calendar year. 
• Candidates of SC/ ST/ OBC are physically challenged and women candidates are given an Age relaxation of 5 years.
