Objectives Of Sikkim Scholarship
The main objective of launching this scholarship is to provide financial services to the students who are not able to pay the higher fees of their schools and colleges. The Sikkim Scholarship is especially for those students who do not have enough points to continue their education. It will help the students of the country to make the future better for tomorrow. General Post Matric Scholarship
The scheme covers professional, technical as well as non-professional, and non-technical courses at various levels including correspondence courses covering distance and continuing education. The scholarship has been provided by the Human Resource Development Department.
Post Matric Merit Scholarship
The Post Matric Scholarship is granted to all local students under the merit and general category pursuing various courses within and outside the state. Its online application will start from September to December every year. The scholarship has been launched by the Human Resources Development Department.
Post Matric Scholarship for EBC Students
This Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% or equivalent grade in the previous final exam and the annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh. This scholarship has been provided by the Social Justice Empowerment and Welfare Department.
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC (Central) Students
The Department is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship to OBC students to provide financial assistance to the OBC students studying at post matriculation and post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. This scholarship has been provided by the Social Justice Empowerment and Welfare Department.
Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students
This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled castes for pursuing post matriculation courses through recognized institutions. Under this scheme, Central assistance is provided on a 100% basis over and above their respective “committed liability”. This scholarship has been provided by the Social Justice Empowerment and Welfare Department.
Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students
The Government of Sikkim has been implementing the scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship to students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe. It aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe for pursuing post matriculation courses through recognized institutions. This scholarship has been provided by the Social Justice Empowerment and Welfare Department.
Pre-Matric Scholarship to ST Students
This scholarship has been provided to economically weak students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community with an aim to encourage them to pursue their studies both at the pre-matric and post-matric levels. This scholarship has been provided by the Social Justice Empowerment and Welfare Department.
CCB Scholarship Scheme, Sikkim
The Combined Counselling Board (CCB) will be providing Rs.10,0000 to Rs.40,0000 discount to the candidates availing different types of courses related to postgraduate and undergraduate. This is a merit-based scholarship and only the candidates who have got good marks will be eligible for this scholarship scheme. This scholarship has been provided by the Combined Counselling Board (CCB- Sikkim).
Founder’s Scholarship (SRM University)
There is a Founder’s Scholarship, in which students who ranked No 1 in school get a 100% fee waiver, and students who ranked second get a 50% fee waiver. Also available are Employee Ward Scholarships and Scholarship. This scholarship has been provided by SRM University.
Sikkim Nationals Scholarship (SRM University)
Students nominated by HRDD, Government of Sikkim are eligible for a 25% of waiver in tuition fees. Students bearing COI and admitted directly to the University are eligible for 10% of the tuition fee waiver. The scholarship has been provided by SRM University.
