The main objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to eligible students who want to pursue their studies at the post-matriculation level. The selected scholars will receive variable awards under this scheme.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Transgender Students
This scholarship is especially for transgender students who are studying in class 11 and above. The objective of the scholarship is to provide financial help to transgender students to enable them to complete their education. This scholarship has been provided by CG Education Department, CG Administration.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students
The main objective of the Central Government for CG students regarding post-matric scholarship is to supplement financial assistance to students of scheduled caste, other backward class, trans- genders, and economically backward class to make them enable for completing their education.
Dr. BR Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Class Students
This scholarship is especially for General category students coming from Economically Backward Class (EBC) and studying in Class 11 and above. The objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the EBC students studying at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage so as to enable them to complete their education. The selected students will receive multiple awards.
Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students
The government and Education Department of CG has initiated a pre-matric scholarship for scheduled caste students of the state. This scheme mainly focuses on the destitute people of Chandigarh, now they will also get a chance to study. Under this scheme government will provide financial assistance to SC applicants.
Chandigarh University Scholarship and Admission Test (CU-SAT)
A Scholarship worth Rs. 5.5 crores will be disbursed under the CU-SAT Scheme as obtaining a minimum of 60 percent in the Admission Test is mandatory for all students. This scholarship has been provided by CG University.
Attendance Scholarship to Girl Students
A girl Student studying in class I to V in nonmodel Govt. Schools whose parents/guardians’ annual income does not exceed Rs. 150000/- per Annum is given an Attendance Scholarship. This scholarship has been provided by CG Education Department.
Attendance Scholarship to SC/ST Students
All the SC/ST Boys & Girls students are covered under the scheme of Attendance Scholarship to SC/ST students from 1st to 8th class. These students are given scholarships of Rs. 250/- per month subject to a maximum of Rs. 2500/- in a year. This scholarship has been provided by the Chandigarh Education Department.
Talent Search Scholarship to SC/ST Students
The beneficiaries will get Admission in Government Model Schools. The scholarship amount of Rs. 150 per month plus Rs. 200 per annum for stationery. Must be studying in class 3 in a non-model government school. Must belong to the category of SC/ST. This scholarship has been provided by the CG Education Department.
Assistance to Physically Challenged Students
Persons who are blind, deaf, orthopedically handicapped who suffer from 40% disability, and more are given financial assistance of Rs.200 p.m. This scholarship has been launched by the CG Education Department Chandigarh Administration.
Award of Meritorious Scholarship to SC/ST Students
Students who have passed VIII, IX, X, and XI classes by securing at least 55% marks are eligible for this scholarship with the condition that family income does not exceed Rs. 1.50 lac per Annum & caste certificate required from 1st class magistrate. This scholarship has been provided by the CG Education Department Chandigarh Administration.
Stipend to SC/ST & BC STUDENTS under State Harijan Welfare Scheme
A student who has passed the 5th class examination is eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is to be granted an amount of Rs. 150/- per month to Boys and An amount of RS. 200/- per month to girl students for 12 Months with the condition that the family income of the student does not exceed Rs. 1.50 lac per Annum and caste certificate is required from 1st class magistrate.
Merit Scholarship on the basis of 5th class Scholarship Exam
Students who have passed the 5th class scholarship exam conducted by the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration are eligible for this scholarship with the condition that the students are not in receipt of any other scholarship and their family income does not exceed Rs 1.50 Lac per Annum. The Scholarship is to be granted an amount of Rs. 150/- per month for 12 months.
Merit Scholarship on the basis of 8th class annual Examination
Students who have secured 95% and above marks from Model Schools and 85% and above marks from ordinary schools in the 8th class annual exam are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is to be granted an amount of Rs.350/- per month for 12 months.
