Objectives Of WBMDFC Scholarship
The main objective of this scholarship is to provide financial help to the students who belong to the weaker sections of society and are forced to leave their studies because of the financial conditions of their families. This scholarship will also increase the literacy ratio in our country. This Scholarship is for the students of West Bengal. The West Bengal government has launched WBMDFC Scholarship which includes five schemes. Pre Matric Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for Pre matric scholarship is as follows:-
- The annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh.Students studying in institutes outside
- West Bengal will not be eligible for the pre-matric or post-matric scholarship
- The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- An applicant must be studying in a School/ Institution recognized by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.
- The applicant must have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
Post Matric Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for Post matric scholarship is as follows:-
- The applicant must have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
- The annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh.
- Students studying in institutes outside West Bengal will not be eligible for the pre-matric or post-matric scholarship.
- The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- An applicant must be studying in a School/ Institution recognized by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for Merit Cum Means scholarship is as follows:-
- The annual family income of the student should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as may be notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation, are also eligible for applying.
- The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The applicant must have got admission in a technical/professional course.An applicant must have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
Talent Support Stipend
The eligibility criteria for Talent Support Stipend is as follows:-
- The annual family income of the student should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as may be notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation, are also eligible for applying.

Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship is as follows:-
- The scholarships will be sanctioned to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.
- Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses from State-aided Institutions are eligible.
- The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.
- The applicant must be a student of Class – XI and XII
- Or the applicant must be under the Graduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses besides Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses.
