About Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship

This scholarship has been launched by The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology. Under Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship, the fellows who are working in engineering professions will get a chance to receive financial services. They will get the benefit in the form of a monthly Fellowship and Research Grant. The Amount of the monthly Fellowship will be Rs.25,000 and the fellows will get an Amount of Rs.15 lakh as a Research Grant. An Overhead of Rs.1.00 lakh per annum will also be provided to the host institute. The Government will provide a maximum of 10 scholarships per year to the fellows.

Objective Of Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship

The main objective of launching this scholarship is to provide monetary help to those fellows who are working in engineering professions. Through Abdul Kalam National Fellowship, the Government will provide financial services to the fellows who have 5 years of service left in the parent organization. The duration of the Fellowship will be initially for three years, extendable by up to two more years depending on the performance and the Fellowship can be held for a maximum of 5 years. Terms And Conditions

The terms and conditions under Abdul Kalam Fellowship are as follows:-

• The nominations can be sent by the Heads of the Institutions/organisations, Presidents/fellows of National science/engineering academies, SS Bhatnagar Awardees, and JC Bose awards.
• All areas of engineering, innovation, and technology are covered under this fellowship.
• The duration of the fellowship will be initially for 3 years, extendable by up to 2 more years depending on the performance.
• The fellowship can be held for a maximum of 5 years.
• The fellowship is taxable as per the IT rule of the Government.
• Applicants should not holds any other fellowship and in the event of selection, they must have to opt for only one of the fellowships.
