About This Scholarship

The Maharashtra Earn & Learn Scheme is being expanded in 2026 to approximately 5 lakh students — confirmed by Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on March 14, 2026. Students receive a stipend of ₹2,000 per month for up to 10 months, in exchange for on-campus contribution (library assistance, lab support, etc.). Tiered hostel allowance also applies: ₹6,000/month in Mumbai and Pune, ₹5,100/month in revenue-area cities, and ₹4,800/month in taluka-level towns. Earn & Learn is a SEPARATE track from the Rajashree Shahu / EBC Freeship tuition-waiver schemes — students can stack both where eligibility allows; there is no rule forcing a choice. 2026-27 update: Maharashtra is auto-linking MahaDBT scholarships with CAP admission — eligible CAP-admitted students get approval at admission, no separate application, no yearly renewal.
